Editorial

Hello friends,

We have some exciting news to share. Since our last edition, Borderlandia has been featured in two major publications: National Geographic and Condé Nast Traveler.

Journalist Rebecca Toy joined us on our Bacanora Tour to experience the culinary culture of Sonora. The journey left such an impression that she included it in National Geographic’s list of the 15 Best Places to Eat in the World in 2026. We are deeply honored by this recognition and grateful to Rebecca for trusting us to share Sonora’s rich culinary traditions and cultural heritage with her.

Condé Nast Traveler also reached out unexpectedly to include me in a special edition celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The project features one travel or hospitality professional from each of the 50 U.S. states, and I was honored to represent Arizona. What makes this recognition especially meaningful is the sense that people are beginning to see our work as something far greater than simple sightseeing.

Our new adventure to Querétaro proved incredibly popular and has now sold out. If you would like to join the waitlist, you can add your name here. And don’t overlook our journey to Puebla next May, where we’ll experience Mexico’s most authentic Cinco de Mayo celebrations in one of the country’s great baroque cities.

We hope you enjoy this new edition, packed with fresh programming and inspiration. Until then, stay cool during the Sonoran summer.

Alex
