Río Sonora + Ures Tour - March 2026
Discover the vibrant heartland of Sonora, Mexico, with Borderlandia!
Join our intimate group as we travel along the Río Sonora from Banámichi to the old capital of Ures. Along the way, we’ll dive into nature, visit ancient missions, and explore charming riverside towns like Baviácora, Huépac, and Aconchi.
Explore Sonora’s rich history via captivating murals, indulge in the sweetness of traditional Sonoran treats, and witness the significance of wheat milling and mining in the Sierra Madre Mountains while on this journey.
You’ll meet the people, taste the regional cuisine, experience the community’s Independence Day parade, and feel like a thousand miles away from the US at only a half-day’s drive from the border.
This trip includes three nights of accommodations at La Posada del Río Sonora in Banámichi, all meals (minus alcoholic beverages), transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter, a professional driver, and guide services.
This tour starts in Nogales, AZ, where we meet and park.
