Anza 250 Commemoration in Tubac

¡Vayan Subiendo! (Saddle up) was the morning call of Juan Bautista de Anza as the expedition departed from Tubac, Arizona, 250 years ago on October 23, 1775. We attended the commemoration at St. Ann’s Church, which featured a blessing ceremony and a reenactment ride by the Anza Trail Color Guard.

Our little Anza made a special appearance in his handmade outfit and leather cuera armor, becoming part of this historical moment. Enjoy these images from the event!

Borderlandia in Moonshot Competition!

We are proud to share that Borderlandia was among the top 5 winners of the annual Moonshot Rural Arizona Finals Pitch Competition last night in Prescott, Arizona.

Out of 20 contestants, we took home one of the three Hustl awards and earned a thousand-dollar prize.

Congratulations to Ashley Heida, who won the grand prize for Analytical Mineset, an AI company for mining operations.

Anza 250 Documentary Project Update

Our friend Luis Valle has started cycling to retrace Anza's expedition in honor of the 250th anniversary of this historic journey. He has already pedaled many kilometers through Sonora and Arizona, and we're excited to hear that each segment has been a rewarding experience.

You can follow his journey on his Instagram page and learn more about the documentary currently being filmed: Anza250doc.
